Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and! evaluation. Responsible for directing, coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Cath Lab Rad Tech

• The Radiological Technologist provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient population in the cardiac catheterization laboratory utilizing a multidisciplinary team approach.
• The Radiological Technologist assists the physician in performing diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures utilizing a variety of specialized equipment, monitors, devices, and supplies.
• Within the cardiac catheterization lab the Radiological Technologist may function in the roles of table runner, monitor tech and scrub tech. Training will be provided and competencies assessed for each role.
• The Radiological technologist will:
• Provide age and population specific care.
• Adhe! re to LGMC policies and protocols.
• Complete educational requirements to maintain licensure / certifications, completes annual facility and department specific education.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times (HIPPA compliance).
• Attend or audits minutes of staff meetings.
• Practice and promote the culture of safety.
• Understands and practice proper use of all equipment: operates equipment consistent with manufacturer's instructions and recommendations.
• Participates in the maintenance and quality assurance of equipment as directed
• Be responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing treatment and uses equipment appropriately to minimize hazards of electrical shock, burns and extraneous radiation to patients.
• Adhere to the established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for the protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinf! ectants, radiation, asbestos, and other hazardous substances.
• Be knowledgeable of and practices medical and surgical aseptic technique.
• Participate in the maintenance and quality assurance of equipment as directed.
• Maintain the inventory, cleanliness, and readiness of the cardiac catheterization suite.
• Participate in the Performance Improvement programs of the department.
• Actively demonstrate the LGMC Standards of Behavior.
• Be knowledgeable and adhere to the National Patient Safety goals.

Perform other duties as assigned.

RN Cath Lab - Qualifications
Education: - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Certfications /Licenses: - Current state Nurse license - Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification

Cath Lab Rad Tech - Qualifications
Current TDH
Current registry with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
Current BCLS
Current ACLS!
