Tasks include:
  • Adhere to infection control programs.
  • Adheres to the Networks Policy and Procedures and related standards of work behavior.
  • Anticipates deteriorating patient life sign patterns or equipment malfunctions and takes appropriate action.
  • Assess the needs of individuals.
  • Conduct specified laboratory tests.
  • Consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Delivers nursing care including education directed towards identified knowledge deficits, treatment planning, pain management and discharge planning.
  • Delivers nursing care minimizing the risk of infection, contamination, and harm or injury.
  • Direct less skilled nursing/health care personnel, or supervise a particular unit on one shift.
  • Guides, educates and provides! leadership as a preceptor following six months of employment.
  • In addition to the essential job elements and duties listed here, other duties may be assigned or assumed which are within the scope of the employee's skill, expertise and licensure or certification.
  • Instruct individuals, families and other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, and health improvement programs.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
  • Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
  • Monitor, record and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditions.
  • Participates in the PI Process.
  • Performs various duties and direct treatment and documentation of patient care with regard to age and developmental stage.
  • Prepare patients for, and assist with, examinations and treatments.
  • Prepare rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and en! sure that stock of supplies is maintained.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Work with individuals, groups, and families to plan and implement programs designed to improve the overall health of communities.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing is required. Two years RN experience at JPS Health Network or three years RN experience outside of Network required. Current RN license by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of TX. Basic Healthcare CPR certification though the American Heart Association required. ACLS Certification. Requires completion of Unit Specific Competency Based Orientation Program within the first six months of employment.
