Clinical Nurse Specialist

Location: Fort Worth Texas

Description: JPS Health Network is currently interviewing Clinical Nurse Specialist right now, this position will be placed in Texas. Functions as an expert nurse clinician within a defined scope of practice and performs selected tasked and services in collaboration with Trauma Surgeons. The Trauma CNS is responsible to the T! rauma Program Director and clinical practice supervisory relationship with the Trauma Medical Director.
Typical Duties

  • 1. Adhere to JPS Standard of Behaviors.
  • 2. Adhere to JPS Code of Conduct, Compliance and HIPAA policies/procedures.
  • 3. Adhere to JPS policies/procedure.
  • 4. Collaborates with the Trauma Surgeon in overseeing and coordinating the multidisciplinary care delivered to all trauma patients treated at this facility to optimize quality patient care.
  • 5. Responsible for monitoring guidelines for the management of trauma patients and for ensuring that the services are delivered in compliance with the guidelines established by Trauma Services.
  • 6. Participates in the trauma call schedule as defined by level of expertise and Trauma Service needs.
  • 7. Provides direct trauma care for patients throughout the length of stay.
  • 8. Provides trauma education to health care professionals participating in! trauma patient care in addition to patients and families.
  • 9. Participates in Trauma Research and dissemination of professional education.
  • 10. Will take an active role in the injury prevention program on projects that are defined by the annual evaluation of the top five mechanism of injury.
  • 11. Will attend the Trauma Performance Improvement Program and Peer Review committee meetings and be an active participant in the process. Attendance at committee meetings benchmarks are the same as defined by ACS for Trauma Surgeons.
Qualifications:Required Education & Experience:
Graduate for an accredited school of nursing. Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Texas by the Board of Nurse Examiners.
Master of Science in Nursing
Two years of experience in ICU

Preferred Education & Experience:
Previous experience in Trauma highly desired.
Knowledge of Performance Improvement, Trauma Systems,

Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
! BLS
TNCC or ATNC â€" may obtain within one year
ACLS

Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
Trauma Care After Resuscitation (TCAR)
