Qualifications/Duties
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, a Magnet facility, is currently in search to hire a Registered Nurse for our Ortho-Medical/Surgical unit. Hours are from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm - 36 hours per week --- 12 hour shifts with rotating weekends
The ideal candidate will have an Associate's Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred, as well as a current RN license in the state of Texas.
At least one to two years of hospital experience in a an acute care setting is required with previous Orthopaedic background.
Orthopaedic Certification strongly preferred.
Qualified candidates should be able to effectively communicate in a clear manner with guest! s, patients, physicians, team members and other employees.
Responsibilities will include patient assessment, creating and maintaining a sterile and safe environment to include service as patient advocate. Initiate action to protect patient rights and/or preferences; adhere to HIPAA, Safety and Infection Control guidelines. Candidates will need to be able to effectively communicate in a clear manner with guests, patients, physicians, team members and other employees. Computer skills are a must.
The variety of cases handled by our nurses at Texas Health Resources is as diverse as our patient population itself. From infants to geriatrics, our nurses help patients recover from a variety of medical conditions. As the primary care giver, you will have the opportunity to stay actively involved in the total care plan through patient and family education. You will be responsible for collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to improve processes that promote continuity of care, initiate action to meet patient and or si! gnificant otherĂ¢s need for information and take action to reduce /eliminate patient risks. Additionally, you will assess the knowledge, skills, and learning needs of team members in relation to the needs and acuity level of patients before the delegation of care. Other responsibilities include maintaining appropriate skills for Medical Surgical nursing and practicing within the standards set forth by the American Nursing Association.
