for patients in accordance with hospital policies. Assumes charge nurse and preceptor responsibilities as
assigned. Level requirements are delineated in the specific level performance standards.

Clinical Practice: Independently performs nursing process -assesses the patient and identifies evidence based nursing diagnosis; determines plan of care with patient input, organizes, implements, and evaluates care provided and outcomes achieved; demonstrates continuous skill and knowledge base development.
Safety: Provides a safe physical and emotional environment for self, coworkers and patients; safely administers medications; recognizes life threatening situations and responds appropriately;
Information Management: Maintains an accurate, legible and releva! nt record of patient care; Communicates information accurately and timely; provides patient and coworker education
Work Management: Efficiently and effectively completes assignments; demonstrates appropriate priority setting; functions as charge nurse as assigned;
6. Professional Development: demonstrates accountability and responsibility for own performance and professional growth; maintains required certification and credentialing;
Performance Improvement: Monitors the quality of care based on pre-established outcome oriented indicators; participates in departmental and organizational improvement activities
Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS : The following qualifications or equivalents are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job.
Education and formal Training: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing. Current Texas licensure as a RN
Work Experience: None
Knowledge, skills, and Abilities Required: Demonstrat! ed positive interpersonal skills. Verbal and written skills required. Demonstrated effective organizational, teaching and leadership skills. Is knowledgeable of the age specific physiological, psychosocial, developmental and spiritual needs of the patients typically served. Must have command of the English language and possess visual and auditory acuity for accurate patient assessment.
Physical Requirements: work requires long periods of standing, walking or sitting and occasional assistance with heavy lifting (50 lb limit for pushing and lifting). May be required to work variable shifts on occasion. Position may involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material
Age of Patients Served: Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric
