Under the general supervision of the unit's Director or designee, the Clinical Coordinator assumes 24/7 day responsibility for the d! irection and coordination of all functions in the unit, in collaboration with the Director or in the absence of the Director.
In collaboration with other members of the management team, the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality outcomes and helps to plan for, organize, and lead delivery of nursing care. The Clinical Coordinator also collaborates with the Director regarding budgetary and strategic planning opportunities for improvement. The Clinical Coordinator assists the Director in providing nursing leadership to the unit and overseeing the clinical operations of the unit to include recruitment and retention, performance review, and professional development; involved in budget formulation process and quality outcomes
.
POPULATION SERVED:

The obstetric ante, intra, and postpartum patient including bu! t not limited to vaginal and cesarean section deliveries. Popu! lation will also include the neonate. GYN patients will also be included in the population served on L&D.

Qualifications
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS
·
Current RN licensure in Texas or compact state.
·
Current BCLS certification
·
NRP (within 6 months of employment)
·
STABLE (within 9 months of employment)
·
ACLS (within 9months)
National Certification within one year of hire! or as soon as eligible
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
! ·
Minimum College: Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN
PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
·
Minimum of one (1) year of clinical practice in the clinical specialty of his/her unit (experience may be substituted for an area of similar patient types).
·
Minimum of one (1) year of Charge Nurse experience.
·
Leadership and management experience is highly desirable.
·
AWOHNN Fetal Heart Monitoring - Intermediate within 1 year of employment)
·
Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transfer physician's orders.
·
Knowledge of body substance isolation.
·
Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs.
·
Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
