Seeking a LVN, Licensed Vocational Nurse. - PRN (Per Diem)

The incumbent of this position is responsible for providing technical paraprofessional nursing services to inmates at the correctional facility. Duties may include, but will not be limited to, providing complete maintenance of all medical records, including pulling and filing records daily for sick calls, dentist visits and physician visits. Establishes initial medical record file for new inmates. Responsible for breaking down records for discharges or transferred inmates, and forwards same to proper agencies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
Assists in sick call screening and physical examinations under the supervision of physicians and nurses based upon physicians orders and physicians protocols. Records health care complaints and takes patient histories. Takes and re! cords necessary vital signs of inmate patients. Collects sampl! es for laboratory examinations and issues routine medications. Records treatment provided according to physicians orders and physicians protocol.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing or completion of a comparable period of training as determined by the State Licensing authority. Licensure as a LVN in accordance with State Statues. Experience in providing health support services in a hospital, clinic, or infirmaries desirable.
