REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST
POSITION SUMMARY:
1.
Under the supervision of the Direc! tor of Respiratory Care, is responsible and accountable for individual respiratory therapy practice and, when applicable, appropriately delegates and supervises tasks to provide optimum patient care.
2.
Participates in establishing, maintaining, and improving patientâs health care goals through patient assessment, planning and implementation of respiratory therapy interventions and evaluation of patient outcomes.
3.
Fulfills the duty and responsibility to maintain competence and to continue personal and professional growth.
Demonstrates this enhanced job knowledge via appropriate change in practice on the unit.
Educates colleagues as appropriate.
4.
Identifies and assists with opportunities for performance improvement activities on the unit and with other service areas.
5.
Accurately and completely documents all aspects of care given.
6.
Recognizes the purpose of em! ployment is to prioritize the patient/ employee/ customer as n! umber one.
7.
Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by taking ownership of time management, decreasing waste (of time and supplies) and promoting cost effectiveness.
8.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Education required and/or preferred:
REQUIRED:
Associates Degree (AA) or equivalent from two (2) year college
Licensure/Certification
REQUIRED:
Registered Certification by the National Board for Respiratory Care
Current
Texas
licensure for Respiratory Care Practitioner, BCLS Provider
PREFERRED:
Neonatal Resuscitation program Certification,
S.T.A.B.L.E. Certification
Experience required or preferred:
PREFERRED:
Unit specific clinical experience preferred
