The Unit
Secretary/Certified Nursing Assistant main! tains the overall
organization of the nurse's station. She/He is responsible for the accurate
transcription of physician orders and/or requests, and processing of
patient needs by direct communication with the appropriate
personnel. She/He assists patients with basic hygiene and activities of
daily living according to nursing policies and guidelines.
This position summary contains the most relevant duties and
responsibilities and does not exclude other assignments not
mentioned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Previous C.N.A. experience
preferred but not required.

2.
Must have good knowledge of the English language.

3.
Must have above average skills in spelling.

4. Must demonstrate commitment and
adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct
through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of
Conduct, attendance at required training and! immediately reporting
suspected compliance issue(s) to th! e Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION /

LICENSURE:
1. High School Diploma/GED required.

2. New hires as of September 28,
2009 must obtain Certified Nurse Aide certification for The State of
Texas or medical assistant certification, and remain current
thereafter.
3. Must have and maintain current BCLS
certification, according to unit specific needs. Certification
must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for
Healthcare Provider’s
Program.
