CLINICAL PLACEMENT COORDINATOR
Position Summary:
Identify, tour, and recruit new! clinical/practicum agency student placement sites.
Collaborate with agency staff as well as CONHS administration and staff to maintain currency in all contractual agreements.
Identity potential adjunct professors for the CONHS. Maintain a list of the approved adjunct clinical faculty and preceptors.
Interact with clinical agencies to plan for and schedule student clinical groups.
Evaluate and file the clinical logs of students who have individual preceptors.
Conduct site visits to clinical sites as required.
Schedule and notify students and clinical faculty regarding the clinical orientations for each students clinical group each semester.
Monitor clinical clearance records on students and submit CPR verification, health clearances, background checks, resumes, fit mask testing and clinical training modules that may be required to clinical agencies.
Prepare clinical clearance permission letters for stud! ents and their advisors.
Distribute to clinical profe! ssors and preceptors the student and agency evaluation forms and clinical teaching forms needed.
Maintain all files related to clinical assignments.
Collaborate with site coordinator and clinical professors to evaluate clinical sites.
Schedule make-up clinical rotations for students.
Attend required meetings at clinical affiliation agencies.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nursing. State of Texas RN licensure, or eligibility to obtain within six months of employment. Valid Driver License. Supervisory experience. Proficiency with MS Office.
Essential skills to include a positive, professional manner. Ability to work effectively with staff from healthcare organizations and other diverse individuals. Ability to connect, motivate, inspire and relate to a diverse pool of students with tact, diplomacy and discretion. Strong presentation and listening skills. Excellent written and oral communication skill! s. Outstanding administrative and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to those with MSN, experience in promoting student success, working with at-risk students, and teaching experience.
