IT Specialist

to suppo! rt the eCIS department.

The

IT Specialist
is responsible for independently managing, monitoring and reporting on complex systems and processes. This position utilizes subject matter expertise to collaborate with department members and leadership in order to drive project success and establish appropriate measures and targets. Supports leadership’s decision-making with data gathering and sophisticated analysis.

This position requires significant customer interaction and ongoing communication with leadership in order to provide support, analysis and responses to customers within stringent time frames.

Will assist IT leaders in maintaining and coaching their teams, and will serve as coach to all IT teams to maintain information boards, validate progress of metrics, countermeasures, and achievement of improvement objectives

Minimum Position Qualifications

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in MIS or a related field

Experience:
Minimum of 5-8 years ! of equivalent healthcare information technology work experience

Preferred:
10+ years supporting or working in the Area of Specialization with Meditech, IDX, Allscripts or other key vendor solution or 8 years of IS application support experience in a Healthcare environment.

Vendor Application Certification or specialized training.

Required Experience

Intermediate understanding of system integration principles and concepts

Occasional night and weekend work

Pager and/or Cell Phone for on-call requirements

Generally less than 25% travel

Basic Math Skills

Ability to operate and use standard office equipment

Essential Functions

Evaluates, installs and helps maintain Healthcare Information Systems for stability and 100% uptime to meet SJH requirements

Will perform and assist end-users regarding complex issues related to application and/or Database maintenance.
Has extensive knowledge and experience to resolve issues without ! other team member guidance.

Provides training and guidance to IT Analyst I, IT Analyst II, and IT Senior Analyst

Able to provide support to both enterprise wide and regional system environments

Area of Specializations

Meditech Data Repository Experience

This individual is responsible for the overall operations and maintenance of the MEDITECH Data Repositories (DR). Coordinates support with other teams for hardware infrastructure, software systems, disk space issues, security concerns and dataset development or utilization.

Experience of Microsoft SQL Server database operations, design and development (including T-SQL programming, Integration Services & Task Scheduling).

Basic NPR Report Writing, data structures and operational experience.

Knowledge of other logical & physical relational database and analysis systems (Oracle, Access, etc.).

Document Imaging

Have a comprehensive understa! nding of McKesson Horizon Patient Folder (HPF), Horizon Business Folder (HBF), and Imaging Link Engine (ILE) modules, including their integration with each other.

Understand the relationship between hospital Medical Records, Admissions, and various Clinical departments.

Possess a working knowledge of SQL including, but not limited to, the building and maintaining of stored procedures and triggers.

Experience supporting scanners, HL7 Interfaces and troubleshooting system error message.

Non- CORE HIS Applications

Experience supporting software applications.

Experience with client/server or web-based computer software application architecture.

Experience with SQL or Oracle databases including creating or modifying queries or stored procedures.

Experience leading software upgrades or installations.

Experience with HL7 interface messaging.

LAB

Experience supporting the various Medi! tech LIS modules such as LAB, BBK, MIC and PATH.

Understanding! and experience with dictionary build requirements to support integration with other applications and hospital workflows.

Experience with setup and maintenance of lab instrument interfaces and maintenance

Experience with setup and support of Iatric Mobilelab is desirable.

Experience with Outreach Lab setup and support desirable.

Understanding of LOINC assignment and set up desirable.

Pharmacy Analyst

Understanding of maintaining and administrating Meditech Dispensing Systems

Understanding and experience with dictionary build requirements to support ordering, dispensing, billing and integration with other applications.

Understanding of Meditech Allergy Management

Maintenance of Meditech Formulary Service Vendor.

Understanding of how the pharmacy systems and practices directly affects other departments providing care to the patient

Supports the Meditech Pharmacy and related adva! nced clinical modules such as PHA, BMV/eMAR, POM and AOM/RXM following departmental, hospital and SJHS policies and standard work.

Pharmacist or Pharmacy Tech experience is beneficial

Financial Analyst

Experience supporting Meditech BAR, GL, FA, AP and other financial modules.

Understand the relationship between hospital accounts receivable, general ledger, and contractual.

Understand hospital billing, charge master, reimbursement, collection requirements and cost-center accounting structure.

Be able to perform financial reconciliation and analysis.

Admissions/HIM Analyst

Experience building and maintaining dictionaries within Meditech ADM, MRI, ARM and ABS modules.

Ability to support 3M Coding Reimbursement software.

Have an in-depth understanding of hospital patient admissions and registration processes including, but not limited to, pre-registration, registration, and discharging.
Possess understanding of ICD9/10 and CPT billing codes.
MIS/Technical Analyst

Experience with device set up in Meditech

Knowledgeable and experience with Meditech system processing (Background/BJPs, Foreground, Proxy Servers, File Servers, Application Servers, Transaction Servers, Wordqueue, Printing/Document Manager and all module integration.)

Acts as a liaison with all other technical teams (Identification of Configuration Standards, Troubleshooting, Device Deployment, Optimization, Monitoring and etc.)

Ability to utilize automated tools to support the Meditech environment

Knowledge of technical validation plan creation and execution

Practice supporting System Administration functions in the Client Server and Magic environments. (Downflags, Alerts, Caretaker Activity Review, DBA and etc.)

Understanding of Third Party Integration such as Citrix, Web-Based Products, Iatrics and Meditech’s NMI functionality.

Clinical Application Analyst

Experien! ce building and maintaining dictionaries within Meditech OE, PCS, eMAR, EMR, BVM, POM, and EDM modules.

Understand the relationships between other Meditech modules that integrate with clinical modules such as ADM, BAR, ITS, LAB, etc.

Have an understanding of nursing processes such as; charting, ordering, charging, transferring, discharging, label/report printing, etc.

Experience supporting other clinical applications such as Patient Monitoring, Fetal Monitoring, patient education, etc.

Experience with building queries, customer defined screens (CDS), group responses and rules to support workflow and module integration.

Experience with setup and support of Iatric Visual Flow Sheet is desirable.

Hospital Inpatient Care experience is desirable.

Ancillary Application Analyst

Experience building and maintaining dictionaries within Meditech ITS, OE, POM, RAD and Departmental

Understand the relationsh! ips and integration with other Meditech modules and third party systems! ..

Understanding of electronic signature setup and support

Experience in creation and maintenance of all aspects of ITS/RAD report dictionaries to include third party output solutions.

Knowledge of billing, departmental charging, printing, report routing, rule creation, film tracking, CDS building and patient tracking within the Meditech environment.

Experience with Hospital Inpatient Care, specialized modalities such as Mammography and Forward Advantage is desirable.
