The job description and criteria based job performance evaluation emphasizes the criteria expected in the performance of the

L&D Re! gistered Nurse.

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient care, through the initiation and continuation of the nursing process; a plan of care is developed based upon assessed identified needs. The Registered Nurse works closely with the medical staff, as well as other professional staff, ancillary department members, visitors and families.

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications

One or more years experience in desired specialty

National certifications in your specialty preferred

License/Certifications

·

License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of

Texas

·

BCLS required (current at time of hire)/maintained throughout term of employment

·

ACLS required within 6 months of hire/must have current ACLS to be a Charge Nurse /maintained throughout term of employment

·

NRP required w! ithin 3 months of hire/must have current NRP to be a Charge Nu! rse /maintained throughout term of employment

·

Fetal Monitoring Course within 6 months of hire/must have current Fetal Monitoring Course to be a Charge Nurse / maintain throughout term of employment

·

TNCC preferred

Continuing Education Program- AWHONN

‘s (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nursing)

POEP

(Perinatal Orientation Educational Program) Completion of course within 1 year of signature of this job description or within one year of

PCEP

(Perinatal Continuing Education Program) expiration.
