Director of Quality and Patient Safety provides leadership, direction and coordination! for Behavioral Health consistent with mission and objectives. Ensures that the critical success factors are achieved (i.e. most extraordinary experience, superior outcomes, financial success for reinvestment, and a growing organization vital to the community).
Primary responsibilities include the following:
Leads Joint Commission continuous survey readiness activities
Participates in all regulatory visits as needed
Chairs the Patient Safety Committee
Ensures organizational adherence to patient safety policies and applicable federal, state and local requirements with major focus on the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG).
Conducts patient safety rounds and develops and implements actions to address findings.
Promotes participation in the annual Culture of Safety Survey, develops action plans in collaboration with hospital leaders to address finding and promote a culture of safety.
Participates in the coordination! , development and completion of the resulting action plans. Conducts RCAs and FMEAs as needed.
Trains new personnel and provides ongoing education and support to staff.
Provides regularly scheduled reports to Quality Council.
Provides education to hospital staff and medical staff on quality and patient safety related topics.
Develops and maintains a comprehensive Patient Safety Program in accordance with the federal, state and local requirements.
Participates in and provides oversight for the achievement of core objectives related to process improvement, core measures and regulatory compliance (Joint Commission, State and Federal).
Requirements
Registered Nurse License Required.
MSN, Master's degree in Business or Healthcare Administration.
Credential professional in an appropriate discipline of major responsibility.
5 years management experience.
10 years healthcare experience, hospital experience preferred.
Experience in the field of Risk Management preferred
Strong leader! ship skills.
Ability to oversee and manage financial budgets and business/strategic planning.
Ability to work independently and handle a multi task environment.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, oral and written.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Window environment (Word, Excel and PowerPoint at a minimum) and email programs.
