Description: Memorial Hermann Healthcare System is in need of Clinical Informaticist - RN preferred right now, this vacancy will be placed in Texas. Nursing/Clinical degree with training in informatics preferred, or Master's degree in healthcare informatics. Experience in working with EHRs. Experience with design and implementation of clinical decision support within the EHR is preferred as well.

BASIC FUNCTION: Position is responsible for planning, reviewing, and controlling all activities and functions of clinical transformation, providing ongoing managerial, technical and motivational leadership while supporting the values and objectives of Memoria! l Hermann.

The Clinical Informaticist (CI) will drive! clinical transformation through careful analysis of current processes and workflows and change management strategies that align with Memorial Hermann's strategic plan, leveraging available resources, metrics, benchmarks and system standards across the enterprise. Transformation comes with a patient's view of continuation of care, department view of integration, and a clinician's view of best practice. The CI will work closely with system and campus leadership and resources to assist in the design of the CIS system and build consensus around the process, workflow, and content for the CIS.

The CI must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills required in a large, complex corporate Information System. The CI applies change management and technical skills in line with the values and goals of MHHS to ensure the efficient, effective and consistent delivery of high quality services. The CI is responsible for translating process and workflow decisions into educational m! aterials, leveraging change management and adult learning principles. The CI is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to the values of the corporation through active participation in the Partners in Caring, Customer Service, Six Sigma, and Continuous Quality Improvement programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Current State of Texas license/permit to practice professional nursing or medical school graduate with medical practice experience.

2. Requires at least five years of experience in direct patient care in an acute care setting, preferably with at least three years of experience with direct contact with clinician computer use, and some experience in applied systems development.

3. Requires experience in change management, clinical informatics, project management, quality improvement methods and tools, data analysis methods and tools, decision support methods and tools, and electronic health records.

4. Industry training an! d experience in the implementation of large and complex Information Sys! tems in a healthcare environment.

5. Ability to understand concepts and translate them into actions.

6. Advanced knowledge of information technology and Microsoft Office tools, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Visio or equivalent workflow documentation tool.

7. Working knowledge of eLearning tools.

8. Superior written and verbal communication skills.

9. Ability to effectively work with all levels of the organization.

10. Experience directing the delivery of effective Customer Relationship Management Skills necessary for efficient problem resolution to maximize customer satisfaction.

11. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Leads the development of an overall strategy to clinical transformation through the use of CIS technology, and participates in development for MH.

2. Plans, organizes, and assists in CIS implementations, and the infrastructure required to support these applications, to meet current and future technology needs and supports the business goals and objectives of Memorial Hermann.

3. Identifies variation in processes and constructs the required representative team which will develop the steps of the redesign process and put in motion-an ongoing effort to reduce variation.

4. Seeks input from physicians, nurses, and other professionals to identify problems, find and implement solutions, and communicate the findings to the CPCO, CMO and ISD leadership.

5. Works to increase utility, promote adoption and create sustainability of the CIS through multi-disciplinary teams and create an infrastructure for re! porting quality information.

6. Works closely with the Support! Services, Facility Readiness, IS Project Managers, and IS analysts to coordinate the strategic changes determined by the clinical leadership/executive team and IS leadership.

7. Maintains a good communication line between Campus Administration / User Departments and Information Services, promoting the Information Systems Division's credibility and value in the organization.

8. Supports all requests for Projects, service requests and problem tickets through the established channels in the Division.

9. Provides high quality technology and change management consulting services in a timely manner, maintaining the high standards of the Division. Helps promote data integrity, vocabulary consistency and optimization of reporting methods. Advocate for 2nd & 3rd level project metrics for any technology project deployed.

10. Actively participates with implementation team(s) during installation of new computer functions or enhancements to existing ! functions which impact diagnostic and clinical areas.

11. Assumes shared responsibility for the success of assigned projects.

12. Demonstrates and presents system functions and capabilities to visitors and other audiences, presenting the leading edge and comprehensive nature of MH systems.

13. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization, and serves as a customer resource.

14. Supports and assists all employees in the spirit of teamwork as opposed to competitiveness.

15. Demonstrates successful use of Division procedures when working on project teams, including use of planned agendas, project plans, and minutes of regularly scheduled meetings.

16. Maintains/develops other administrative and communication skills such as conducting meetings, writing an! d speaking clearly and in a businesslike manner
