Healthcare System (VANTHCS), Fort Worth Out-Patient Clinic is recruiting a full-time
Primary Care Physician ! in Ambulatory Care.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Full unrestricted Licensure, Certification, or Registration required.

DUTIES:
The incumbent
functions in a primary care setting, working with other physicians, physician
extenders, nurses and/or other support staff. Provides primary care for a panel
of adult and geriatric veterans with emphasis on providing comprehensive
primary care to veterans, who have a wide spectrum of diagnoses in outpatient
setting.
The incumbent will
provide services which include, but are not limited to, diagnosing, treating
and managing patients with typical primary care (including the routine care of
women patients) conditions according to usual and acceptable or customary
standards of medical! practice. Responsibilities will include performing minor
outpatient procedures and collaborating with primary care staff on optimal
health delivery to our growing number of female veterans. The employee shall
participate in activities of the Health Care System that are designed to meet
the requirements of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare
Organizations (The Joint Commission) as they apply to the position.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

U.S. Citizenship (Non-citizens may be appointed only if it is

Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting
from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
·
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or
surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the
District of Columbia.

Must be!
board certified or eligible.

Physical Requirements: Physican Functional Requirements:
Physician will be responsible for the evaluation and treatment of veterans. This will include, treating outpatients, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, and determining the need for hospitalization at the facility. This position requires primary care management of patients in an outpatient setting with a team of caregivers
EDUCATION:
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree
resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The
degree must have ! been obtained from one of the schools approved by the
Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was
completed. Approved schools are:
(1) Schools of medicine holding
regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical
Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.
(2) Schools of osteopathic medicine
approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the
degree was granted.
(3) Schools (including foreign
schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth
(i.e., Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or
unrestricted licensure.
FOREIGN EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
To receive credit for education
completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has
been submitted to a private organization that specialized in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at! least
equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
