POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing; the Clinical Coordinator (nurse manager), trains, helps to supervise and provides clinical guidance to all nursing and ancillary staff in an emergency setting in order to provide high quality patient-focused health care services to all patients. The Clinical Coordinator effectively manages the day to day team̢۪s clinical operations, services, scheduling and coordinates with Director of Nursing regarding personnel performance on an ongoing basis. Provides appropriate clinical documentation, maintenance of the aesthetics of the clinic, and oversight of clinical operational standards. Also assists the physician/provider in monitoring ancillary staff in carrying out physician provider delegated orders and tasks. Abides by the laws governing the practice of nursing and/or paramedics as established by the Texas State Board of Nursing and/or the Texas Board of Practical Nurse Examiners and National Paramedic/EMT standards.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current Texas Nursing license in good standing
  • Three to five years prior professional nursing in an ER setting
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and P ALS
  • Pass Criminal background check(s)
  • Commitment to company values
  • Detail oriented with exceptional interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA and CLIA standards and requirements
  • Ability to accurately read and write medical terminology
  • Ability to work independently and with the public using sound judgment in a high pressure environment while maintaining excellent patient care and customer service
  • Basic college level math skills, typing skills and intermediate computer proficiency
  • Ability to escort or transport patient by wheelchair or stretcher when appropriate
  • Ability to work all shifts including day, evening and weekend hours as needed
  • Strong team player
  • Works Monday-Friday, exceptions based on facility needs to be discussed with Director of Nursing
  • Must not accrue over time unless otherwise discussed with the Director of Nursing
P ERFORMANCE STANDARDS:
  • Assure that the quality of clinical services is maintained through individual and group supervision with effective communication and promotion of teamwork.
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality at all levels.
  • Assists in hiring quality candidates for clinical positions by interviewing, performing competency evaluations and making recommendations.
  • Strives to promote the quality and efficiency of his/her own performance through participation in staff education programs, approved education courses, and specialized skill training programs.
  • Acts as Safety Officer and ensures the buildings and properties are up to appropriate safety and cleanliness standards and are well maintained.
  • Maintains appropriate stock of supplies, medicine and disposable goods within the facility at all times.
  • Ensures facility equipment and stock is in proper working order; including quality control and preventa tive maintenance
  • Leads the resolution of customer complaints and concerns by diffusing upset customers, offering service recovery when appropriate, providing action plans and staff education, and documenting per State guidelines.
